So, im in buenos aires. but you all knew this…err.. now you do. the flight down from Dallas was a little over 2 weeks ago, and was interestingly plot lined with a twist. I sat at the airport bar, flirted with the woman serving me over priced jack daniels, got on the plane, sat a for a bout 20 minutes, no AC, and while the jets warm up, the captain lets us know a nice crack in the luggage compartment is going to ground us for a little until they ductape the mother fucker. I go back to the bar……

I arrived, liquored up no less but in typical nueport fashion, clean, crisp and hungry.

Since i’ve been here, i’ve learned that i too can live among Argentines, as a Faux-gentine. I can chop down abunch of steak, drink(heavlily) in public, speak the language enough to throw Nappers off my broke scent, stay out pretty late and to my dismay look just like every other jerk….the facial hair thing is a right of passage here, haha look at me trying to be all unique and junk.

unlike my other capers and misadventures, i have managed to stay out of trouble…well much trouble. I have had a taste of the underbelly, yea thats right, i’ve seen things man….and I’ve sat in euro style coffee shops staring at the waitresses ass and wondering how i got here and what kind of underwear she might be wearing… turns out.. buenos aires is much like any other place….unique in its own way.

im writing this because im counting down the minutes until the election is officially over, City politics in Buenos Aires, until 9pm at which poiint the city lifts the alcohol sale ban….for election days only that is. At 9pm I will raise the flag and munch down on a few empanadas and perhaps spend the extra dollar and a get a full 1.5 liter of Stella Artois.

I realized I post more on facebook and other general peer 2 peer communication services than i do to this beauty. Staying true to the blog I do my best to post. I (the founder) don’t do the reflecting thing to often and if i do ..I dont think i do it well. I like to write and I like what I say…generally. When Im pooping out an idea, the flood gates open and the incontinence that occurs usually makes me feel proud, because, at least Im writing a good ..errr an idea down. I forget that if there is an audience, they have been loyal or they have stumbled upon this beast of a blog by chance..or some tagged search. Either way, if they come, i welcome “them” if they don’t …I remind myself, We (Nueport Team) are writing for ourselves. The bigger question is, whats it all mean and why am I contributing to this larger information dung ball? why are we all helping roll this bowling ball of shit around, I mean we started it, we know what it looks like,….smells like even…I say because Its ours (cue in applause). nueport is the bar you go to where no one cares to know your name, if you’re here pull up a chair, drink your beer, cigarettes…smoke em if you got em and sometimes let the jukebox do the talking. It helps me sleep to think this. Enjoy.

Finally realizing I took good weather for granted and with some time …again..some time to spare, I decided to bust out the old 5 speed Univega and trek out the good city, our nations capital, DC. Im not here to front but you definitely get a different feel of the place you live in when you get on the man powered machine, pedal and take in some city wind and the occasional bug…the kind where you’re not quite sure if you swallowed it but then like still stop and hack up a lung and act like it came close and just missed…

anyway, I was introduced to the MACAFRAMA videos by a fellow blogger. Macaframa has a huge list of riders CHECK EM HERE that get on some fixies and pretty much put riders to shame. Unsuspecting looking doods that get pretty nasty on the streets, the streets of my favorite city, city of origin no less, San Francisco. They mash pretty hard down some mean hills, avoid getting killed by city traffic, do a couple of tricks er two and come off their bikes like it was just another day.. Check these cats out…. note…my buddy Pat La Rock and Ross J(Good Luck on your move back east, SF will miss you) took did a little side project outside of Maca and did their own production,….all raw.
